"Far West Texas Border Check"

A lot of people seem to think "Far West Texas" begins after Fredricksburg or Junction but I would go as far to say it isn't far west until you see the border patrol around the Marathon, Marfa, and Alpine areas.  You never go through the border checks headed south which makes you forget about them as you party and laugh it up in Terlingua all weekend.  It isn't until you're driving home hungover and dazed that you come around the bend and see the station and have to put yourself together for a minute or two hoping it doesn't become a prolonged uncomfortable experience.
